I was experiencing extreme pain due to my wisdom teeth, and was forced to leave work due to almost passing out. I wanted them gone ASAP, and no one would see me and extract them same day. That is until I called Texas Oral Surgery Group in Denton. They were able to squeeze me in the same day and extract all 4 wisdom teeth. They did a fantastic job, and I am recovering nicely, and aside from a little soreness am pain free. They were so kind and professional, and really took the time to explain everything, and set me up for recovery. Rosenbaum, my local Decatur dentist recommended and referred me to Texas Oral Surgery Group as he determined that I had need of two surgical removals of erupted teeth. The informed me that they do not accept Medicare but I have UHC Advantage and even though they are not in network the same as Rosenbaum and another "Affordable" dental clinic that I had used in Denton were able to claim some reimbursement from my insurance so I have expectations that will be the case? I am a retired 87-year-old widower and USAF Veteran who had recently undergone one removal the end of December and was super worried about having to undergo two! Autumn, the surgery assistant, was really helpful and informative during the process which in addition resulted in surgical implant of an endosteal device and some bone replacement grafts. I was injected several times and felt no pain and even though I was prescribed pain medication which I took for several days although I have discomfort but no actual pain, no bleeding or swelling, etc. I am scheduled for an additional procedure but I understand my local dentist will have to be contacted to complete my implant procedures. I am very satisfied with the current services and am intensely attempting to forget my experience that I was regretting and was not as bad as I feared! I have just had an additional double implant surgery and impressed with the equipment including some form of portable x-ray during the procedure to ensure that the implants are correctly placed. In addition I recently had to visit the Denton clinic which was quite an impressive facility!

Texas Oral Surgery Group was so easy and quick to get into. I had Amber both times I came in (one for consultation and one for surgery). She was the sweetest. Walked me through everything, checked everything, and even chatted at bit! Dr. Michael looked at my scans and immediately told me why my mouth was hurting and how/why we should remove 3/4 wisdom teeth. He walked me through everything and answered all my questions. The surgery was easy to schedule, and I got to schedule it on my time. I came in to remove my wisdom teeth removed on Friday, March 15th. Got a quick scan with Amber and she took me back and set me up. We chatted about work and life (was a great conversation with someone who truly cared) and she walked me through and set me up for the surgery. I meet another sweet assistant, Autumn, and saw Dr. Michael for about 15 seconds before I remember waking up (1 hour or so later) with my husband in the room for me to leave! Amber gave my husband all of the information and helped walk me out to my car! With following the instructions, so far so good on recovery! Found out later I kept kicking my legs off the chair in my sleep but they were able to do everything without messing my very small mouth up (sorry!!!). All in all, I’d definitely break my mouth or regrow wisdom teeth to see this wonderful group of people again! (Plus didn’t have to wait in the waiting room very long either time!) I highly recommend this place!! *UPDATE* I just return to Dr. Michael 6 months later for another extraction and 2 implant anchor screws. Let's face it, nobody likes going to the dentist, much less an oral surgeon... but these folks will change your mindset about it because they are just flat out awesome! They returned my call after hours to expedite scheduling and coordinated with my regular dentist in Decatur to save me the trip to the Denton office. You can't ask for a more caring, courteous and professional staff, at all levels, from the minute you walk into their offices and are greeted by the smiling receptionist to the nurses who work with Dr. Michael during your oral surgery and certainly Dr Michael himself. The nurses and Dr Michael are constantly checking on your comfort during oral surgery too. It surely helps eliminate much of the anxiety most people have prior to oral surgery. This is the 5 star hotel of oral surgeons, hands down. I’ve needed dental work for a very long time and as I’ve journeyed through getting it done, I’ve needed a team (from dentist, to ortho, to oral surgeon) and I honestly am thankful to have found Dr. Michael for my wisdom teeth. I will share that I had multiple (almost) bad experiences before finding him. One included an oral surgeon who wanted to cut and move my jaw, and another “group” of “wisdom teeth people” that after taking my money, the day of the procedure sat me down and once the doctor came in, he said, “No, I’m not taking them out. You’re going to lose the adjacent teeth.” Turns out he wasn’t even an oral surgeon. 😑 All that to say is, I can’t thank my lucky stars enough to have found this team, and the care, patience, and affordability of the procedure is top notch. What a wonderful blessing Dr. Michael and his oral surgery team turned out to be. I was so impressed being a person that has always had a negative and painful experience with dental surgery. I had been told by another dentist that recommended Dr. Michael that I would need to be put to sleep to have two teeth removed. because of a medical condition I had. But after consulting with Dr. Michael he felt that I should not be put to sleep for the removal and he also felt no need to remove the second tooth. This gentle surgeon numbed my gum with like four local injections, sat and chatted with me for a couple of minutes until he felt the gum was numb. He tapped two times on my tooth and at that point his assistant told me my tooth was out. Oh my goodness, I have never had a pain-free tooth extraction before. Dr. Michael and his staff are incredible, and exactly what I had prayed for as I was so worried when I walked into their offices. Dr. Michael, and all of the Texas Oral Surgery Group went out of their way to make the whole experience fantastic for me… You guys are great, God bless you !

My daughter recently had her wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Michael. During our consultation appointment, he and his assistant explained everything thoroughly. I appreciate the fact that they took time to answer all of our questions and didn't try to rush through the appointment. On the day of her surgery, everyone was very kind and encouraging to a nervous teenager and her mom. While she was going through her surgery, one of Dr. Michael's assistants explained to me what to expect and the procedures to follow for her meds, etc. Later that afternoon, the office called to check on my daughter. Plus gave me instructions for day of surgery and after so I would know what to expect. Morning of surgery, lol I am the difficult patient. My veins like to hide from the start then they roll or blow. I like the fact that a Dr will come in and try to help his nurses get a IV started and blood drawn so they can get started. So I will gladly continue to use Dr Wayne and his staff for all my needs should I have anymore!!! Plus I most certainly will recommend them! Thank you so much for the great job!! I had an extraction a few weeks ago under concise sedation. One of the least painful dental procedures I've ever had. They were wonderful! I was prepared to be in bed all weekend with ice packs, pain pills, and jello. I only wound up taking 4 of the pain pills. I was up and about like nothing happened later that evening. I honestly wish I did have a little more pain. I probably did a couple things I shouldn't have because I felt fine. Lol. I work in call center. 2 days later I was talking my whole shift and did fine.

It was an implant that brought me to see Dr Michaels. But first, I had to have an extraction and bone graft procedure. Surgery went extremely well with no problems.
